About me

¡Hola! My name is Clarisa Capone (Señora Capone) and I'm super excited to be your Spanish teacher. I'm originally from San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina, but I've lived in many places in the US and two years in Italy. I moved to State College with my husband and children 5 years ago.

I studied Spanish Literature, Culture, and Linguistics at Colorado State University and completed my K-12 teaching certification at Penn State. I started teaching Spanish in 2008 as an instructor at University of Utah and have been loving it ever since.

In State College, I taught Spanish at Grace Lutheran Preschool & Kindergarten, at Lemont-Houserville Elementary School as part of my training, and I student taught at State College Area High School. This is my 3rd year at Young Scholars. I love our school!

This summer I went to the AATSP (American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese) 100th Conference in Salamanca, Spain. It was my first time in this city. I loved everything about it! The food, the people, and hearing/reading Spanish everywhere! I have many pictures and ideas to share with you this year.

As always, my goal as your teacher is to keep you motivated to learn Spanish through fun activities, discussions, and projects.

Cheers to an exciting year!
